Narrative Label

The Cappelli durum wheat used to produce these biscuits is grown in Italy in accordance with organic farming regulations. Cappelli durum wheat dates back to the early 20th century, when Nazareno Strampelli ran experimental tests in fields provided by the Marquis Cappelli, thus obtaining superior grains, including the Cappelli variety.

Cappelli wheat is sown in autumn and rotated with legumes and other starter crops. As the plant begins to grow in the fields, harrowing is carried out in order to eliminate weeds. Harvesting takes place in summer, when the plants are fully ripe and the ear is an intense gold colour. The harvested crops are then taken to the mill where, once cleaned, they are ground.

The chocolate chip Cappelli wheat biscuits are a source of iron, phosphorus and copper. Iron helps to ward off tiredness and fatigue. Phosphorus helps us to maintain healthy teeth and bones. Copper contributes to ensuring normal nervous system function and energy metabolism. A varied and balanced diet is very important, as part of a healthy lifestyle.
