Alce Nero organic tomato pulp with basil is made from tomatoes grown in Italy.

Tomatoes are harvested in July, August and September and are processed to preserve their flavours, fragrance and nutritional properties. Tomatoes are washed, selected, peeled and diced in preparation for the next step. Basil and tomato paste is added and the product is then heated to high temperatures, bottled and pasteurised to guarantee its stability over time.

In accordance with organic farming regulations, no synthetic chemical treatments are applied and nothing but organic fertiliser is used.

The tomatoes are processed to preserve their flavours, fragrance and nutritional properties. Once washed, the skin is removed using steam and only then are the tomatoes diced into cubes.

After tomato concentrate is added, the pulp is bottled and pasteurised to ensure stability over time and perfect conservation. The sugar content is monitored throughout each phase. The average Brix value for this product (a unit of measurement used to express its degree of sweetness) is between 7 and 8.
