Alce Nero organic millet comes exclusively from Italian cultivations.
Millet belongs to the family of graminaceous grasses and the plant was cultivated in Central and Eastern Europe as far back as the Neolithic era (6,000 - 6,500 years ago). It is an annual herbaceous plant which can grow as tall as 1/1.5 m. It is a de-husked grain with a delicate taste, ideal for enriching soups and purées or for creating delicious flans, meat or vegetable balls.
