Alce Nero organic corn and Cappelli durum wheat cakes are made with Italian Cappelli durum wheat and corn.
Cappelli wheat is a historic durum wheat named after the eponymous senator from Abruzzo who promoted the agrarian reform in the early 20th century which led to the distinction of durum and soft wheat. Cultivated in Italy, is characterised by its intense flavour and for its stalks which grow up to one metre sixty centimetres in height and are characterised by an unmistakable black 'moustache'.
These cakes are ideal as an alternative to bread or biscuit rusk for breakfast. Delicious slightly warmed.
