This product is made using 100% Italian, organic peas, cultivated in areas of Italy which are most suited.
Our peas are mixed size, tender, sweet and highly versatile in the kitchen. Once harvested they are processed, washed, blanched and frozen. Then they are packaged.
The packaging of Alce Nero peas is 100% recyclable and can be disposed of with paper.
It is our commitment to keep all legal information up to date, but you may find differences from the packaging actually available.
The pea (Pisum sativum) is an annual herbaceous plant of the Fabaceae family. The pea favours a mild/cool climate and medium-textured, sandy and peaty soil that is deep, cool and well-drained.
Alce Nero peas have a bright green colour, a soft consistency and a sweet flavour.
Alce Nero chooses not to select its peas based on their size. The pods are in fact completely shelled, without discarding bigger peas. The peas are sorted at the plant, then washed, lightly cooked, frozen and packaged. All in as short a time as possible and without ever interrupting the cold chain after freezing.
These two factors are essential in order to retain as much of the freshness, nutritional value and flavour of the original product as possible.
Alce Nero pays great attention to the environmental sustainability of its products, by not only avoiding intensive farming and the use of chemical treatments, but also in choosing to use recyclable packaging.
The packaging of Alce Nero peas is 100% recyclable and can be disposed of with paper waste.
